Project Description
The existing condition here was a back yard that sloped upwards within a few feet of the back doors , making it challenging to access and build any kind of reasonably sized deck or patio. The clients wanted to increase the amount of flat and usable space and make the yard generally more attractive. Our strategy was to create a larger flat paved area immediately outside of rear doors, and a smaller flat grass upper area, using terraces in between to pick up the change in grade. We designed many options, each of which tried to make the terraces into an attractive and useful element. We also included elements such as trellises and fountains, and increased plantings at the rear fence for privacy. This project is currently under construction by AMR Landscape
